Welcome to Happy to Help Grannies – a company created with a big heart and a desire to help women over the age of 55 to find employment.

 

My name is Jennifer Wells (You can call me Granny Jenz) I am 64, and I have been struggling to find work. I GOT SO FRUSTRATED WITH BEING TOLD, YOU ARE TOO OLD, OH, AND SINCE COVID, YOU A HIGH RISK!  I knew I was still capable of doing a day’s work, and my brain was still sharp (I lie it needed sharping)

 

I was ready to give up on life! but God put a stop to that very swiftly, I said now what God? I sat on the bed rubbing the bump on the back of my head, I got it when I throw my head back to put the pills in my mouth. when it hit me!!! (Excuse the punt) How many other ladies feel the same as I do right now that is now???

 That’s when I decided to take matters into my own hands and start this amazing company.

 That is how ‘Happy to Help Grannies’ was created. 

 My idea is simple yet powerful. Our lovely ladies become “stand-in grannies” for families who need help with their children or for elderly individuals who may not have close family nearby. We provide that extra support and companionship that is so valuable in our community.

 I launch my company within a month, the big launch was on April 12, 2023, at the time I had employed 27 ‘Grannies’

 I have now got 43 ‘Grannies’ countrywide in total, 33 of them are in and around Durban. 

 I believe that age should never be a barrier to employment, and we are determined to prove that to the world.

 We have been so blessed to receive support from generous sponsors who have provided us with our lovely golf shirts and the branding of my cars, my staff’s name badges, and ID tags.
